Kootenay Dental Office
Ransomware Attack
Like many dental offices, one of our local dentist clients (who wish to remain anonymous) was recently hit by ransom-ware hackers. The attackers digitally padlocked their server and tried to ransom back the key to them.
Mango had the office up and running within 45-minutes of receiving the alert, restoring the company’s temporary virtual server, and had the physical hard drive restored within 24 hours of the attack. The dental office experienced zero data loss and zero need for system reconfiguration.
Rocky Mountain Printers
Hybrid Mac/Microsoft Print Server
A local printing company has been on the front edge of the printing industry for decades, operating out of a building built in the 1970's.
Thousands and thousands of files have moved across the order desk, with exacting customers waiting for their projects on the other side.
At the beginning of their relationship, Mango IT updated the printer's core network, increasing IPS security and creating new network mapping that brought in mobile and BYOD capabilities.
As staff were increasingly using Mac products,
Mango created a hybrid Mac/Microsoft Print Server environment with multiple sign-in points.
This custom-built solution saved RPM upward of $60,000 in migration costs and allows staff the choice of which operating system they would like to use day to day.

Kootenay Christian Academy
Expanding Devices, Security + Thwarting Thieves
When the techs at Mango IT began working with Kootenay Christian Academy, the school IT infrastructure was aging, it had poor wifi coverage for it’s sprawling campus, a large security gap with only old analogue cameras onsite. They needed a robust, centrally controlled system to better maintain their current footprint and also accommodate upcoming plans to expand the school to add three more grades, making the school kindergarten to grade twelve.
Mango began by building out the network, replacing routers, switches, adding 14 new access points, and installing a full map of digital security camera coverage. Mango recreated VLANs and innovated new VLAN for VoiP phones.
Mango next introduced smart boards and a cost-efficient fleet of over 300 student Chromebooks in all classrooms, maintaining the hardware and software for those, carefully balancing students need for speed, networking and safety.
KCA, unfortunately, had their security tested when thieves broke into the school and stole a classroom’s supply of 30 Chromebooks. When alerted, Mango locked the devices and helped the RCMP track them.
The recovered Chromebooks showed that though the thieves tore apart a couple of the devices, they were not able to get past Mango’s MDM security lockout.
Fitness Inc Gym
Bespoke Software Integration
When Fitness Inc upgraded their membership software, they discovered there was no integration with their accounting software. Their plan to save hours of admin time with a high-tech solution was looking like a disaster with a bunch of extra steps and headaches.
Mango IT was able to quickly create a custom software solution that bridged their membership platform to their payments and accounting software, saving time and money.
Now Fitness Inc staff is flying through their bookkeeping duties allowing them to spend more time with their clients.
